Through the end of the year, the Barbican Cultural Center is hosting an exhibition dedicated to the American-Japanese sculptor Isamu Noguchi, one of the most innovative artists of the 20th century. Stroll through 150 works including sculptures, theater sets, furniture and lighting of all kinds. Discover in this exhibition his way of acting as a “world citizen” and his approach to sculpture as a “living environment.”

In this exhibition, The Met Fifth Avenue celebrates the variety and diversity of Surrealism. Poetic and often humoristic, the work of surrealists can also be used as a political and social weapon. Surrealism Beyond Borders explores pieces from over 45 different countries to highlight “historical, national, and local distinctions”. Dive into this global and revolutionary movement!

6. The New Woman Behind the Camera at the National Gallery of Art, Washington DC

During the 1920s, the modern woman was recognizable but hard to define.  Becoming a global phenomenon, she embodied the model of the “real” woman: engaged in revolutionary movements and in art,  including photography. This exhibition presents these “modern women” who adopted the camera as a mode of expression and deeply marked the medium from the 1920s to 1950s.
