JEAN-LUC VERNA AT MAC VAL DE MARNE

MAC VAL, new El Dorado of groundbreaking art, intensifies inventiveness with punk-poetic retrospective. Jean-Luc Verna exhibits like a chameleon (visual performer) and star (his body as the medium). The shooting star of contemporary art doesn’t aim to shine but to make everyone starry-eyed. Under the chiaroscuro light, octagonal and symmetric scenography embraces the spectator’s body. Blazing up to be followed.

End of exhibition on 26th February
Where ? MAC VAL de Marne, place de la Libération, 94400 Vitry-sur-Seine

I always preferred poets rather than artists”, “the ones who do real politics, are poets. These are the ones who mark History”, says Jean-Luc Moulène. His protocol retrospectives illustrate “a poetic act in which art science and technology are combined”, according to the commissioner, Sophie Duplaix. The unusual character of his volumes manufactured in 3D by the computer, awaken an indifferent look. His poetry is the fruit of a long elaboration quest, which materializes each of his objects.

In the exhilarating context of the new era with paid holidays, 1936 onwards…sports clubs for Parisian workers have been booming. France Demay, half-athlete half-photographer, captures these moments of lightness and shared freedom. Another time period… Alain Laboile, half-daddy half-photographer uncoils a family album where zest for life is highlighted before nostalgia and the unusual. He focuses on the gentle period of childhood through games of his offsprings. With a sharp sense of composition for his photos, he interlinks elements through unique charm.

End of exhibition 4th March
Where ? MAC Créteil, 1 Place Salvador Allende, 94000 Créteil
