A buzzing location

After a successful 2022 edition that welcomed nearly 70,000 visitors, Art Paris, an official Artsper partner, returns March 30th – April 2nd, 2023. This year’s edition embraces a strong, international lineup of 134 modern and contemporary galleries from all over the world. This year’s distinguished roster of galleries reflects the art fair’s growing presence and impact on the art market. For Art Paris’s 25th edition, it expects to see a 30% increase of new visitors.
For the second consecutive year, the fair will take place in the Grand Palais Éphémère, in the heart of the Champ-de-Mars in Paris. This central location also contributes to the fair’s vocation to make contemporary art accessible to the general public, a value shared by Artsper.
An anniversary edition: The 25th anniversary of Art Paris
Art Paris celebrates its 25th anniversary this year. At its origin, the fair was created by France Conventions, a French family entity. It has become the not-to-be-missed art event in the capital, but also on an international scale. During its 25 editions, Art Paris has had the opportunity to showcase many foreign contemporary art scenes such as China, Korea, Latin America and Africa. Each year, the fair has been able to turn to social issues that cross the field of contemporary creation. And the 2023 edition is no exception to the rule!
The fair’s rich and promising program

While browsing the aisles, expect to come across all mediums: painting, sculpture, photography, drawings, prints, video, and design objects. As usual, the fair also supports the presence of emerging galleries, to be found in the “Promises” section. All galleries included in “Promises” must be less than 6 years old. The galleries included offer fresh, forward-thinking perspectives to the contemporary art landscape. In this sub-section, galleries are allowed to present a maximum of three artists and nearly half of their participation fee is covered by the fair itself.
Art Paris also promotes an assortment of solo exhibitions in “Solo Show,” a subsector of the fair. These exhibitions present the public with a perfect, in-depth opportunity to discover or rediscover the work of modern, contemporary, or emerging artists. The “Solo Show” sector is an essential aspect of the fair’s exciting lineup.
Two themes: commitment and exile
This year, Art Paris has chosen to place commitment and exile at the heart of its programming. These subjects resonate with current events and challenge many artists. It is also a proof that the fair is aware of the ongoing wars and civil unrest globally. In order to stay true to this theme, the fair has carefully oriented its curation towards artists and galleries that address these issues. Thus, the event as a whole highlights the commitment in artistic creation. It’s a commitment to which some artists devote their entire lives… Exile is also honored, a sister theme of the commitment. Art Paris is doing justice to the complexity of this notion beyond its geographical definition.
Beyond this, the fair is a regional fair that favors proximity, locality, and ease in terms of transportation and visitor circulation. Organized by France Convention, Art Paris is fully committed to the development of an eco-design approach for the fair in 2023.
The fair as you have never seen it before…

Artsper and Art Paris share a common vision for the future of art. At the forefront of everything is the importance of accessibility in order to make contemporary art accessible for all. The fair presents various visits with a core mission of decrypting art in collaboration with l’Observatoire de l’art contemporain. Beyond this, there are various features available to the public that allow spectators to visit the fair online, such as virtual tours, and other important information regarding galleries, artists, and artworks.
