Discover Artsper's London Holiday Soirée

This December, Artsper came together in collaboration with Natacha Birds and Tada & Toy to throw an unmissable holiday event in London. Natacha Birds is an emerging contemporary artist based out of Dordogne, France. She focuses especially on the female form and flora. Tada & Toy is a demi-fine jewelry brand in London, England founded by two childhood friends: Tansy Aspinall & Victoria van Holthe.

The event

The party, held in Tada & Toy’s Portobello Road shop in London, featured discounted shopping, music, drinks and a live-painting experience by Natacha. Held throughout the evening with drinks from Kuda Cocktails and Nice Wines, and snacks from ChicP, the shop was buzzing with guests. Passersby on the street stopped to observe Natacha work, while guests inside warmed up among Tada & Toy’s jewels.

The artwork

Natacha’s work, created especially for the occasion, featured seasonal and local florals, as well as her classic female forms. In her own words:

“Her work revolves around “La Femme-Fleur” (The Flower-Woman), which is similar to a tale or legend: its hybrid nature makes it a symbol of communion between man and nature, but also of a peaceful struggle against patriarchy. Like flowers, we all possess our own carnal and emotional particularities, our own strengths and weaknesses. By coming together, flower women unite their energies, compose bouquets and protect each other.

Associating a flower with a body is for her a game of analysis, observation, sensations and intuitions. By looking at each woman, she deciphers the emotions she releases or buries, playing with the harmony of shapes until she finally finds the flower that corresponds to her and will pay homage to her.”

More of Natacha’s Femme-Fleurs are available on Artsper.

More to come, in London and beyond…

The holiday soirée was Artsper’s second London-based event, after last years partnership with Mortimer House and the artist Aziz Anzabi. Stay tuned for more collaborations happening in London and around the world!
