“Treasures from the Wreck of the Unbelievable” is the first major exhibition dedicated to Damien Hirst in Italy since the 2004 retrospective at the “Museo Archeologico Nazionale” of Naples. And for the occasion, the Pinault Foundation Team did not do things halfway. It is the first time that two entire spaces of the foundation are entirely dedicated to one artist. The exhibition extents over nearly 5000 square meters and invites the visitors to discover the cargo of the wrecked ship “unbelievable”, the impressive collection of Aulus Calidius Amotan, a freed slave better known as Cif Amotan II, destined to a temple dedicated to the sun, and of course, straight out of the imagination of the artist. More than an exhibition, this event is a crazy treasure hunt.
